Panama Metro Line 3
Probabilistic Seismic Hazard Analysis
Dynamis conducts the PSHA/site specific for Line 3 of the Panama Metro
Dynamis joins the design team for the seismic design of Line 3 of the Panama Metro.
Line 3 of the Panama Metro is an ambitious project that is currently being developed in the country, from which thousands of residents of the province of Panama Oeste will benefit.
Divided into two phases, the first phase will lead to to the Ciudad del Futuro sector in the Arraiján district, and the second phase will lead to La Chorrera. Line 3 will depart from Albrook Station and will go through Arraiján, Nuevo Chorrillo and will arrive at Ciudad del Futuro. The first phase will consist of 24.5 kilometers, with 5.3 km of underground section, and 14 stations distributed throughout.
Dynamis mission
Dynamis was tasked with performing the PSHA/site specifics for the underground structures of the first phase of Line 3. The individual effects as well as the combined actions of the seismogenic sources have been estimated by means of a probabilistic calculation, to determine its influence on the calculation of seismic hazards at the various sites taken throughout the underground section.
In order to obtain the design spectrum at the surface and taking into account the site effects, Dynamis performed a site response analysis in the study area.
Dynamis’s participation in the seismic design of the Line 3 of the Panama Metro ensures a safe and secure design, appropriately considering seismic forces in the foundation along the metro line.
